He then discusses the feeling of setting the American Record in the 1650 freestyle and how the distance swimmers at Michigan made it a priority to return the record to the Wolverines.<\/p>\n<p>Connor says in the 1650, Coach Josh White challenged him to be eight seconds or so faster at the 1000 yard split than previous swims because he &#8220;had nothing to lose&#8221; in doing so.<\/p>\n<p>The topic then turns to the American record Katie Ledecky set in the women&#8217;s 1650 the heat prior to Jaeger.<\/p>\n<p>Host Jeff Commings then asks Connor which long-course event he prefers, the 400 meter freestyle or the 1500 meter free, and Jaeger&#8217;s answer was a bit surprising.
