FEDERAL WAY – The Bolles B squad foursome\u00a0in the boys 200-yard medley relay downed the 15-16 U.S. National Age Group Record at the Speedo Winter Junior Nationals.<\/p>\n
Dakota Mahaffey (22.73), James Daugherty (25.69), Ariel Spektor (22.26) and Tyler Rice (20.61) raced to a 1:31.29 in heat 1 to finish sixth overall.<\/p>\n
Mahaffey, as pictured above, swims for Clay High School during the high school season. \u00a0This is the path Caeleb Dressel took as he prepped at Clay and swam club with Bolles.<\/p>\n
That swim beat the previous record of 1:31.90 set by Aquazots’ Daniel Tran, Tyler Sin, Justin Hanson and Thomas Smith earlier this year.<\/p>\n
This particular NAG has seen some tremendous progression this year, considering the Crow Canyon Sharks’ 2011 1:33.41 was the mark heading into 2014.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Palo Alto Stanford’s Ben Ho (22.96), Joe Kmak (24.81), Joe Molinari (21.90) and Albert Gwo (19.71) won the overall title in 1:29.38.<\/p>\n
Bolles’ A squad of Andy Song An (22.87), Andrea Vergani (24.99), Javier Barrena (22.04) and Jabari Baptiste (20.09) took second in 1:29.99.<\/p>\n
King Aquatic’s Thomas Anderson (22.17), Mitch Hovis (25.93), Mathias Oh (21.32) and Kevin Dang (20.61) raced to third in 1:30.03.<\/p>\n
