INDIANAPOLIS, July 29 THE victory stand at the 2006 Speedo Junior National Diving Championships had a familiar look to it Friday, with three of the day\u2019s four winners already winning gold earlier in the week.<\/p>\n
Kaylea Arnett won the girls 13 and under one-meter title; Ross Edfort took gold in the boys 13 and under three-meter competition; Nick McCrory claimed the boys 14-15 three-meter title; and Thea Vock won the girls 14-15 one-meter event. The win served as Vock\u2019s first title of the championships, but the other three champions had already won at least one title this week.<\/p>\n
Arnett\u2019s victory completed the sweep for the 13-year-old, who scored 287.90 points on one-meter for her third title of the week, already winning titles on three-meter and platform. Mary Dunnichay won silver for the third time. She entered the final round in fourth place but scored an 8 and three 7.5s on her last dive, ending up second with 275.85 points. Sarah Chewning held on for bronze with 273.85 points.<\/p>\n
Edfort, who won one-meter earlier in the week, led by just 0.80 entering the last round of the three-meter event, but he scored four sevens on his last dive to secure the victory with 287.50 points. Charlie Retter won silver after scoring 279.55 points, and Andrew Whittington, the 2006 platform champion, scored 276.65 points for bronze.<\/p>\n
McCrory, who won the 14-15 platform title Wednesday, cruised to victory in the three-meter contest with 492.00 points, nearly 55 points ahead of silver medalist Kristian Ipsen, who won his second silver with 437.60 points. Tom Neubacher 433.35 for his second bronze.<\/p>\n
Vock scored 305.90 points on one-meter for the gold medal, and Ashley Faure won the silver with 300.25 points. Katrina Young came from behind for a bronze medal, scoring 50.40 points on her last dive for a final total of 299.35. <\/p>\n
The Speedo Junior National Championships continue through Sunday, July 30. In all, 18 national titles will be awarded.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
