DOHA –\u00a0Chad le Clos challenged his world record in the men\u2019s 200 fly with his triumph at the FINA World Short Course Championships. Watch Race Video<\/a><\/p>\n

Le Clos just missed his global standard of 1:48.56 from the Singapore stop of the FINA World Cup. \u00a0Tonight, he crushed the meet record with a sizzling time of 1:48.61. \u00a0Daiya Seto held the previous meet mark with a 1:50.82 from prelims today.<\/p>\n

With the win, le Clos is the first person (male or female) to ever sweep all three butterfly events in a single short course worlds.<\/p>\n

Le Clos also now has four individual golds this week, becoming just the second male swimmer ever to do so. \u00a0Ryan Lochte won five golds in 2010.<\/p>\n

Japan\u2019s Seto wound up taking second in 1:48.92, just missing the world record himself as he beat Takeshi Matsuda\u2019s Asian record of 1:49.50 from the 2011 Tokyo stop of the FINA World Cup.<\/p>\n

Poland\u2019s Pawel Korzeniowski finished third overall in 1:50.21, while USA\u2019s Tom Shields managed to take fourth in 1:50.68.<\/p>\n

Denmark\u2019s Viktor Bromer (1:52.13), Russia\u2019s Aleksandr Kudashev (1:52.17), Russia\u2019s Nikolay Skvortsov (1:52.52) and Australia\u2019s Grant Irvine (1:52.69) placed fifth through eighth.<\/p>\n
