DOHA –\u00a0France\u2019s Florent Manaudou dominated the men\u2019s 50 back en route to a world record at the FINA World Short Course Championships. Watch Race Video<\/a><\/p>\n

Manaudou threw down an epic time of 22.22, crushing Peter Marshall\u2019s world record of 22.61 from Singapore in 2009. \u00a0It also blasted Stanislav Donets\u2019 meet record of 22.93 from Dubai in 2010.<\/p>\n

This world record pairs well with\u00a0Manaudou\u2019s other global standard of 20.26 in the 50 free<\/a>.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s France\u2019s sixth medal of this meet (3G, 1S, 2B), as the nation is just two medals away from equaling its top tally of eight from 2010 (3G, 3S, 2B).<\/p>\n

USA\u2019s Eugene Godsoe was unable to challenge Manaudou or the 23-second barrier as the American wound up with silver in 23.05.<\/p>\n

Donets snared bronze overall with a time of 23.10, while Venezuela\u2019s Albert Subirats earned fourth in 23.16.<\/p>\n

Australia\u2019s Mitch Larkin (23.18), USA\u2019s Matt Grevers (23.32), Great Britain\u2019s Chris Walker-Hebborn (23.33) and Norway\u2019s Lavrans Solli (23.48) also vied for the title.<\/p>\n
