as part of Team USA’s 800 free relay of Conor Dwyer, Lochte, Matt McLean and Tyler Clary<\/a>, Lochte won his 21st short course world gold and also earned gold for the sixth straight championship.<\/p>\nLochte managed to win gold in the event he first started his epic short course career – the 800 free relay. \u00a0In 2004, he was part of Team USA’s winning effort as he leadoff the team of Lochte, Chad Carvin, Daniel Ketchum and Justin Mortimer to a 7:03.71 to beat the Australians by a small margin (7:03.78).<\/p>\n
