{"id":115170,"date":"2014-11-23T11:54:26","date_gmt":"2014-11-23T18:54:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=115170"},"modified":"2014-11-23T11:54:26","modified_gmt":"2014-11-23T18:54:26","slug":"sarah-sjostrom-closes-swedish-short-course-championships-seven-titles","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/sarah-sjostrom-closes-swedish-short-course-championships-seven-titles\/","title":{"rendered":"Sarah Sjostrom Closes Swedish Short Course Championships With Seven Titles"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>STOCKHOLM &#8211; Sarah Sjostrom added plenty more to <a title=\"Sarah Sjostrom Dominates Swedish Short Course Championships\" href=\"http:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/sarah-sjostrom-dominates-swedish-short-course-championships\/\" target=\"_blank\">her five golds and a Swedish record from the first three days of competition<\/a> during the final two days of swimming at the Swedish Short Course Championships.<\/p>\n<p>She took down another Swedish record with a 1:51.44 in the women&#8217;s 200-meter free. \u00a0That swim smashed her previous mark of 1:52.26, and moved her to second in the world behind Katinka Hosszu&#8217;s 1:51.41. \u00a0The time also took a run at Federica Pellegrini&#8217;s world record of 1:51.17, and is now third all time.<\/p>\n<p>Michelle Coleman took second in 1:58.39 with Frida Berggren placing third in 1:59.09. \u00a0Coleman bounced back in the women&#8217;s 200-meter back with a 2:03.26 to crush Therese Svendsen&#8217;s Swedish record of 2:06.65 from 2009. \u00a0She vaulted to fifth in the world with the effort. \u00a0Sandra Hafstrom (2:10.17) and Ida Lindborg (2:10.59) took second and third.<\/p>\n<p>Sjostrom and Coleman tangled again in the women&#8217;s 100-meter free with Sjostrom winning her seventh title of the meet with a 51.32 Swedish record against Coleman&#8217;s 52.39. \u00a0Sjostrom jumped to the top of the world with her time, blasting her Swedish record of 51.93 from last year. \u00a0That moved Sjostrom to fifth all time in the event&#8217;s history.<\/p>\n<p>Coleman, meanwhile, moved to eighth in the world with Magdalena Kuras taking third tonight in 54.30. \u00a0Coleman claimed another triumph in the women&#8217;s 50-meter back with a 27.22. \u00a0Magdalena Kuras (27.53) and Ida Lindborg (28.02) rounded out the top three.<\/p>\n<p>Simon Sjodin added another meet record with a 1:53.49 in the men&#8217;s 200-meter fly, while Jesper Bjork took second in 1:57.09. \u00a0Markus Malm snared third in 1:57.09.<\/p>\n<p>Sjodin followed that with a destruction of the men&#8217;s 400-meter IM Swedish record. \u00a0He blasted a 4:06.84 to smash Christoffer Wallin&#8217;s 2009 mark of 4:10.93. \u00a0Sjodin vaulted to 10th in the world this year. \u00a0Linus Kanth (4:14.46) and Adam Paulsson (4:14.89) finished second and third.<\/p>\n<p>Christoffer Carlsen won the men&#8217;s 50-meter free in 21.88 with Petter Symne taking second in 22.03. Stefan Nystrand raced to third in 22.16. \u00a0 Carlsen also won the men&#8217;s 100-meter free in 47.77. \u00a0Alexander Nystrom (48.02) and Oscar Ekstrom (48.28) picked up second and third.<\/p>\n<p>Alexander Nystrom claimed the men&#8217;s 100-meter back in 54.26 with Axel Pettersson setting a Swedish junior mark with a second-place 53.12. \u00a0Jesper Bjork picked up third in 53.35.<\/p>\n<p>Nystrom then won the men&#8217;s 50-meter back in 24.27. \u00a0Jesper Bjork took second in 24.60 with Christoffer Carlsen finishing third in 24.78.<\/p>\n<p>Jennie Johansson hit the wall in 30.46 to win the women&#8217;s 50-meter breast, while Una Finnman took second in 30.96. \u00a0Jessica Eriksson snared third in 31.39.<\/p>\n<p>Adam Paulsson won the men&#8217;s 1500-meter free in 15:11.13 with Victor Johansson taking second in 15:25.70. \u00a0Simon Plato finished third in 15:27.41.<\/p>\n<p>Frida Berggren snared the women&#8217;s 400-meter IM in 4:42.45, while Fanny Lilliestrom placed second in 4:49.61. \u00a0Jaqueline Hippi finished third in 4:49.73.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.livetiming.se\/results.php?cid=1990&amp;session=0&amp;all=1\"
