{"id":114948,"date":"2014-11-21T08:55:36","date_gmt":"2014-11-21T15:55:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=114948"},"modified":"2014-11-21T08:55:36","modified_gmt":"2014-11-21T15:55:36","slug":"florent-manaudou-lara-grangeon-lead-rankings-charge-french-short-course-championships","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/florent-manaudou-lara-grangeon-lead-rankings-charge-french-short-course-championships\/","title":{"rendered":"Florent Manaudou, Lara Grangeon Lead Rankings Charge at French Short Course Championships"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Photo Courtesy: Rob Schumacher-USA TODAY<\/p>\n<p>MONTPELLIER &#8211; Florent Manaudou and Lara Grangeon were two of the swimmers who took a run at the world rankings on night one of the French Short Course Championships.<\/p>\n<p>Florent Manaudou charged to fifth in the world with a 21.10 to win the men&#8217;s 50-meter free. \u00a0Clement Mignon took second in 21.45 for 20th in the world. \u00a0Nosy Pelagie claimed third in 21.87.<\/p>\n<p>Lara Grangeon jumped to sixth in the world rankings with a time of 2:05.41 to win the women&#8217;s 200-meter fly.<\/p>\n<p>Sharon van Rouwendaal, representing the Netherlands at this Open championship, took second in 2:06.02. \u00a0She moved up to 10th in the world. Marie Wattell picked up third overall in 2:08.44 for 18th in the world.<\/p>\n<p>Clement Mignon topped the men&#8217;s 400-meter free in 3:41.21. \u00a0That shot him up to 13th in the world rankings. \u00a0Tunisia&#8217;s Ahmed Mathlouthi placed second in 3:42.14, while Joris Bouchaut rounded out the podium with a 3:44.08.<\/p>\n<p>Van Rouwendaal returned in the women&#8217;s 100-meter back with a 58.76 for the win. Mathilde Cini took second overall in 59.26, while Pauline Mahieu earned third in 59.26.<\/p>\n<p>Mehdy Metella vaulted to sixth in the world rankings with a 50.20 to win the men&#8217;s 100-meter fly, while Jordan Coelho took second in 51.64. \u00a0Camille Lacourt finished third overall in 52.65.<\/p>\n<p>Evelyn Verraszto snatched seventh in the world in the women&#8217;s 200-meter IM with a 2:08.03 for the win. \u00a0Charlotte Bonnet took second in 2:08.77 for 12th in the rankings, while Lara Grangeon placed third in 2:08.90. \u00a0That put Grangeon up to 13th in the world.<\/p>\n<p>Giacomo Perez Dortona turned in a 57.88 to win the men&#8217;s 100-meter breast, moving him up to 11th in the world. \u00a0Jean Dencausse touched second in 58.32 with Eddie Moueddene finishing third in 59.66.<\/p>\n<p>Raphael Stacchiotti won the men&#8217;s 200-meter IM in 1:56.71, just outside the top 20 in the world rankings. \u00a0Yannick Agnel touched second in 1:57.26 with Ganesh Pedurand finishing third overall in 1:58.20.<\/p>\n<p>Paul Pijulet claimed the men&#8217;s 200-meter back in 1:55.75 with Florian Joly taking second in 1:56.66. \u00a0Paul-Gabriel Bedel placed\u00a0third in 1:56.80.<\/p>\n<p>Fanny Lecluyse of Belgium put up a 30.67 to win the women&#8217;s 50-meter breast, while Adeline Williams touched second in 31.42. \u00a0Fanny Deberghes wound up third in 31.84.<\/p>\n<p>Charlotte Bonnet captured the women&#8217;s 100-meter free in 53.53 with Cloe Hache taking second in 53.94. \u00a0Margaux Fabre picked up third in 54.00.<\/p>\n<p><a
