MISSION VIEJO, California, June 18. ON the final day of the TYR Swim Meet of Champions Australia and Japan continued to show their strengths, while the top Americans prepped themselves for the upcoming Nationals.<\/p>\n
One of those Americans, Adrienne Binder, continued her sweep of the distance events by winning the women\u2019s 1500 meter freestyle. She finished in 16:32.10 to win the event by over ten seconds. <\/p>\n
Japan\u2019s Netsuk Akiyama had little trouble winning the women\u2019s 100 butterfly. She touched the wall in 1:00.39 touching-out teammate, Ayaka Okumura (1:01.13). Andrew Lauterstein (Australia) cruised past Japan\u2019s Kazuk Obayashi under the flags touching at 54.19.<\/p>\n
The Japanese backstroking duo of Tomoyo Fukuda and Miyuk Takemura went head-to-head again in the 100 backstroke. Fukuda barely out-touched Takemura in 1:02.95 over 1:03.01.<\/p>\n
Australis swept the men\u2019s 100 backstroke, touching 1-2-3-4 all under 57 seconds. It was Ashley Delaney who got his hand on the wall first in 56.16. Dan Arnarmnart touched second in 56.34.<\/p>\n
Sara Katsoulis from Australia took on American Keri Hehn in the women\u2019s 100 breaststroke. Katsoulis touched first at 1:10.80 to Hehn\u2019s 1:11.35. On the men\u2019s side Australian Brenton Rickard handled the field with little problem touching the wall in a swift 1:02.48.<\/p>\n
Ous Mellouli (Trojan Swim Club) continued his domination of the I.M. and distance events winning the 200 I.M in 2:03.70. Brian Johns from the UBC Dolphins touched second at 2:04.10.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
