PHOENIX – If you haven’t heard of the name Beata Nelson by now, you definitely need to get caught up, because this young lady is now the fastest high school swimmer in history in the 100-yard butterfly.<\/p>\n

<\/iframe> \nNote: YouTube Measures Views Only For Episodes Watched On YouTube.com \nSubscribe to our YouTube channel! <\/p>\nSwimming at the Wisconsin high school Division I championships last week, Nelson put down a 51.70 in the 100 fly, breaking Katie McLaughlin’s national high school record by eight hundredths of a second. Nelson was out in a very quick 24.7 and held on for the record. As exciting as the time is, what’s more interesting is that Nelson is just a high school junior, so she’ll have another opportunity to swim faster. Nelson has been quietly making a name for herself in the short course pool, swimming in multiple finals at the NCSA junior national championships. She’s also a strong long course swimmer but it’s her underwater work that helped her make history last weekend.<\/p>\nSo congratulations Beata.
