Frostburg State, Marymount, Salisbury, Saint Mary\u2019s, Mary Washington and York College will battle for the top spot for the conference championship in late February.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>FROSTBURG STATE<\/p>\n<p>Frostburg State\u2019s men\u2019s and women\u2019s squad\u2019s lost at conference foe Salisbury State November 8. Both the men&#8217;s and women&#8217;s teams are now 2-5 on the season. Senior Kaitlyn Donch continues to dazzle in the distance events earning first place in the 800 free (10:22.46) and 400 free (5:05.17). Macey Nitchie leads the Bobcats in the freestyle sprints, earning first place finishes in the 50 free (28.68) and 100 free (1:03.03). As for the men, freshmen Christian March (1:09.26) and Jon Shepard (1:10.44) finished 1-2 in the 100 breast. March would also take second place in the 50 free (25.42) as teammate James Williams would add another second place for the Bobcats in the 800 free (10:07.79)<\/p>\n<p>MARYMOUNT<\/p>\n<p>The Marymount Saints opened up their season with a double dual meet on November 1, at conference foe Saint Mary\u2019s that included Goucher. The women beat Goucher and fell to Saint Mary\u2019s, while the men fell to both Saint Mary\u2019s and Goucher. On the men\u2019s side, Robert Klazynski swam a 1:52.01 in the 200 free grabbing second place. Ross Wiley would take another second place for the Saints in the 200 back (2:03.87). For the women, Claire Thomas earned two second places in the 100 free (56.23) and 200 free (1:52.01). Freshmen Morgan Alston had a nice debut for the Saints taking third in the 400 IM (5:02.10) and 200 back (2:22.18).<\/p>\n<p>SALISBURY<\/p>\n<p>Salisbury earned their first win of the season against Frostburg State on Saturday. The women\u2019s squad won 141-64, as the men\u2019s squad won 155-48 winning 10 of 12 events. Victoria Radcliffe earned 29 points for the Seagulls with first places in the 400-meter medley relay (4:56.95) 400-meter IM (5:28.53) and 100-meter free (1:23.54). Teammate Claudia Guay had a fine meet as well earning first place in the 200-meter free relay (2.02.61) and second places in the 800-meter freestyle (10.36.91) and 400-meter freestyle (5.11.78) On the men\u2019s side, Junior, Will Gough leads the charge for the Seagulls earning 29 points earning 3 first places in the 50-meter free (24.93) 100-meter free (55.07) and 200 free relay (1:41.95). Sophomore Kevin Mejia crushes the competition in the 400-meter free finishing at 4:31.70 and 15 seconds ahead of second place winner and fellow Seagull Bill James.<\/p>\n<p>SAINT MARY&#8217;S<\/p>\n<p>Saint Mary\u2019s men\u2019s squad has struggled since opening the season with two wins. The men have dropped four in a row including three in Saturday\u2019s quad meet against St. Vincent, Dickinson and at conference foe York college. On the women\u2019s side, the Seahawks are 5-1 coming off a quad meet Saturday against St. Vincent, Dickinson and at York college. The women opened the meet winning the 400 medley relay (4:09.74), setting a new pool record, which included Hannah Hafey, Brooke Raab, Kara Machlin and Elizabeth Straathof. This meet was all about Senior Brooke Raab. The captain delivered three first place victories in the 400 medley relay (4:09.74) 200 IM (2:16.20) 200 breast (2:29.35)<\/p>\n<p>MARY WASHINGTON<\/p>\n<p>Mary Washington men\u2019s and women\u2019s swimming leaves Ashland Va. Saturday victorious against Randolph-Macon. The lady Eagles win big 135-56, as the men sneak by winning 104-97. The women opened up with a first in the 200 medley relay of Ryger, Hagy, Presland-Byrne and Wood (1:57.74) Maddie Carinci won the 1,000 free (11:27.78) and Robin Brazier takes first in the 200 free (2:02.23) Hannah Hagy took first place in the 50 free (25.54) as teammate Stephanie Hallock was right behind out-touched for second place (26.92). For the men, Tyler Gimple continues his excellence in the 1,000 free (10:15.18), as does Alex Anderson in the 200 back (1:54.94) The 400 free relay of Anderson, Eisig, Gimple and Gore sealed the deal for a victory Saturday posting a 3:14.65<\/p>\n<p>YORK<\/p>\n<p>York College hosted a quad meet Saturday hosting Saint Mary\u2019s, Saint Vincent and Dickinson. The men would sweep the meet (5-1), as the women fell to all three teams (1-5). The women would take two top eight finishes in the 1,000 free with Brianna Blackwell (11:40.00) and Madison Tonkay (11:53.92). Senior Courtney Dacheux took third place in a tight 50 free race (25.85). The Spartans took two top five spots in the 200 fly. Kacey Banks earned third place (2:17.01) and Kate McConaghy finished fifth (2:21.51) The men opened up victorious in the 400 medley relay of Schreiber, Walthall, Latchford and Bonner (3:37.94) The 200 free earned valuable points for the Spartans. Morgan Schreiber placed third (1:49.47), Bryant Hughes touched fourth (1:50.44) and Tim DeCoursey finishing sixth (1:52.98)<\/p>\n<p>COMING UP NEXT<\/p>\n<p>Saturday November, 15 will be the only CAC action this weekend as Saint Mary\u2019s travels to western Maryland to take on Frostburg State at 1 p.m. We will see if Seahawk captain Brooke Raab can continue her dominant performances. As well as freshmen studs Christian March and Jon Shepard for the Bobcats. Mary Washington faces off Saturday against D1 foe Howard in a non conference battle. Will the Eagles continue having strong leads in their 200 medley and 400 free relays led by Hagy, Wood, Anderson, Eisig and company? Marymount University heads to Gallaudet Friday at 6 p.m. The women will seek an above .500 record as the men look for their first win of the season. York college looks to continue their strong swimming in central Pennsylvania against Washington &amp; Jefferson in a non conference battle Saturday at 1 p.m. Can the men improve their overall record to 6-1, and can the women salvage a second win on the season after losing three straight?
