{"id":113984,"date":"2014-11-09T10:34:39","date_gmt":"2014-11-09T17:34:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=113984"},"modified":"2015-08-24T07:44:09","modified_gmt":"2015-08-24T14:44:09","slug":"marco-orsi-moves-top-5-50-free-bolzano","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/marco-orsi-moves-top-5-50-free-bolzano\/","title":{"rendered":"Marco Orsi Moves Into Top 5 in 50 Free in Bolzano"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>BOLZANO &#8211; Marco Orsi had a strong day, moving to fifth in the world in the 50 free, as the highlight swim of day two at the Bolzano International Swim Meet.<\/p>\n<p>Orsi took down the men&#8217;s 50-meter free title in 21.23. \u00a0That swim jumped him to fifth in the world rankings. \u00a0Steffen Deibler, who posted a 21.34 at the Beijing stop of the FINA World Cup, cruised into second in 21.92 with Ryan Lochte picking up third in 22.11.<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, <a title=\"Federico \u201cKing Shark\u201d Bocchia Delights With Antics In Swimming World Throwback Thursday Video\" href=\"http:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/federico-king-shark-bocchia-delights-antics-swimming-world-throwback-thursday-video\/\" target=\"_blank\">local celebrity Federico &#8220;King Shark&#8221; Bocchia false started in the 50 free<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Steffen Deibler, who stands third in the world with a 49.33 from the Dubai stop of the FINA World Cup, cruised to victory in the men&#8217;s 100-meter fly with a 50.89. \u00a0Lochte checked in with another podium finish as he clocked a 51.49 for second. \u00a0Markus Deibler snared third in 52.71.<\/p>\n<p>Natalie Coughlin threw down a 24.46 to top the women&#8217;s 50-meter freestyle today, while Madison Kennedy turned in a 24.78 for second. \u00a0Erika Ferraioli wound up third in 24.82.<\/p>\n<p>Fabio Scozzoli, who has a seventh-ranked 57.40 from the Dubai stop of the FINA World Cup, topped the 100-meter breast today in 58.73. \u00a0Markus Deibler placed second overall in 59.87 with Eduardo Giorgetti claiming third in 1:00.10. \u00a0Brad Craig (1:00.19) and Lochte (1:00.37) also competed.<\/p>\n<p>Katie Meili, who doubled up yesterday, won the 100-meter breast today in 1:05.87. \u00a0That&#8217;s about a second off her fifth-ranked 1:05.01 from the Tokyo stop of the FINA World Cup. Molly Hannis checked in second with a 1:06.52, while Ilaria Scarcella placed third in 1:07.87.<\/p>\n<p>Arkady Vyatchanin topped the men&#8217;s 50-meter back in 24.30 with Niccolo Bonacchi taking second in 24.38. \u00a0Giuseppe Ronci claimed third in 24.92. \u00a0Elena Gemo picked up the women&#8217;s 50-meter back win in 27.90. \u00a0Laura Letrari took second in 27.96 with Erike Ferraioli earning third in 28.06.<\/p>\n<p>Elena Di Liddo won the women&#8217;s 100-meter fly in 58.34 with Silvia Di Pietro touching second in 58.37. \u00a0Georgia Barton claimed third in 59.69.<\/p>\n<p><a
