GHENT – Fanny Lecluyse took down a Belgian record as part of a double during the Belgian Short Course Championships today.<\/p>\n
Lecluyse lowered the Belgian record in the women’s 100-meter breast with a 1:05.90. \u00a0That time undercut the 1:06.87 set by Brigitte Becue well back in 1998 at the Paris stop of the FINA World Cup. \u00a0Lecluyse moved into an 11th-ranked tie in the world rankings. Lise Michels took second in 1:10.92 with Luana De Raeve earning third in 1:11.33.<\/p>\n
Lecluyse doubled up with a 2:11.61 in the women’s 200-meter IM, while Jolien Vermeylen touched second in 2:17.83. \u00a0Nathalie Bynens placed third in 2:20.18.<\/p>\n
Kimberly Buys missed her Belgian record of 57.00 in the women’s 100-yard fly with a 57.65 to win the event tonight. \u00a0Chantal Senden finished second in 1:01.09 with Sara Vanleynseele earning third in 1:02.23.<\/p>\n
Buys doubled up with a 28.00 in the women’s 50-meter back. \u00a0Hanne Calleeuw touched second in 28.32 with Carolien Lindekens placing third in 29.50.<\/p>\n
Buys’ third title came by way of the women’s 50-meter free with a 25.21. Chantal Senden took second in 25.37 with Chloe Wijns placing third in 25.88.<\/p>\n
Lander Hendrickx clinched the men’s 100-meter back in 54.91 with Jeroen Lecoutere taking second in 55.31. Nils Van Audekerke picked up third in 55.77.<\/p>\n
Hendrickx doubled with a 3:46.92 in the men’s 400-meter free. Emmanuel Vanluchene (3:47.27) and Ken Cortens (3:51.01) closed out the top three.<\/p>\n
Jonas Coreelman turned in a 28.08 to win the men’s 50-meter breast. \u00a0Raf Vandevelde placed second in 28.47 with Maxime Cabrol snagging third in 28.67.<\/p>\n
