TILBURG – Femke Heemskerk clocked a sizzling\u00a0time of 1:51.75 to set the meet\u00a0record in the women’s 200-meter free at the Dutch Short Course Nationals. She just missed her Dutch record of 1:51.72 set at the Aachen International Swim Festival.<\/p>\n

That time challenged Federica Pellegrini’s world record of 1:51.17. \u00a0Heemskerk was even out under world-record pace at the 150-meter mark, but could not replicate Pellegrini’s stunning closing split of 28.08.<\/p>\n

Rieneke Terink turned in a second-place 1:56.27 with Wendy van der Zanden taking third in 1:57.71. Sebastien Verschuren picked up the men’s 200-meter free title in 1:45.37, while Kyle Stolk took second in 1:46.50 to set the Dutch age group record for 18 year olds. \u00a0Ferry Weertman wound up third in 1:46.72.<\/p>\n

Inge Dekker chased down the meet record in the women’s 100-meter fly with a time of 56.51. \u00a0That’s not as fast as her scorching 56.03 that ranks second this year from the World Cup, but was more than enough to win tonight. \u00a0Elinore de Jong took second in 58.68 with Chantal Senden placing third in 1:00.16. \u00a0Lu Ying’s 55.95 from the Beijing stop of the FINA World Cup still stands as the fastest this year. \u00a0Tom Lommers topped the men’s 50-meter fly in 24.19 with Mike Marissen (24.23) and Jesse Puts (24.36) earning second and third.<\/p>\n

Marjolein Delno won the women’s 400-meter IM in 4:47.05, while Lisa Dressens took second in 4:48.64. \u00a0Tessa Vermeulen wound up third in 4:52.59. \u00a0Sebas van Lith followed with a 4:16.64 to win the men’s 400 IM. \u00a0Arjan Knipping placed second in 4:23.17 with Frank Roovers setting the 16-year-old Dutch age group record with a third-place 4:27.26.<\/p>\n

Maaike de Waard hit the wall in 27.15 to win the women’s 50-meter backstroke, while Kira Toussaint took second in 27.67. \u00a0Tamara van Vliet wound up third in 28.56. Jesse Puts then won the men’s 100-meter back title in 53.24. \u00a0Aziz Nosairi earned second in 54.06 with Laurent Barns claiming third in 54.89. \u00a0Nyls Korstanje wound up 10th overall with a 57.36 to set the 15-year-old Dutch age group mark.<\/p>\n

Moniek Nijhuis stopped the clock in 2:24.28 to win the women’s 200-meter breaststroke, while Lia Dekker claimed second in 2:28.23. \u00a0Carmen van de Rijt placed third in 2:32.81. \u00a0Lucas Greven followed with a meet-record time of 2:09.08 in the men’s 200-meter breast. Sebas van Lith earned his second podium of the night with a 2:09.62, while Kasper Leeuw touched third in 2:13.28.<\/p>\n
