BAIE D’URFAE – The University of Georgia’s swim team will add another Canadian to its roster next year, with today’s verbal commitment from rising breaststroker James Guest.<\/p>\n
Guest competed at this summer’s junior Pan Pacific championships in Hawaii, where he finished fifth in the 100 breast and sixth in the 200 breast. He notched a lifetime best 1:02.79 in the 100 breast at the meet, and was off his lifetime best of 2:15.21 with a 2:16.46. At last year’s junior world championships in Dubai, he was 10th in the 200 breast with a 2:16.45 and also competed in the 50 breaststroke. <\/p>\n
Georgia will need a strong breaststroker next season to help fill the gap left by the graduation of Nic Fink, though current Bulldogs Gunnar Bentz and Chase Kalisz are equally up to that task.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
