Hartwick swimming hosted the Hartwick Relays on Saturday with the men&#8217;s team picking up the victory. \u00a0SUNY-Oneonta won the women&#8217;s team title.<\/p>\n<h2>Hartwick Press Release<\/h2>\n<p>On Saturday Hartwick&#8217;s swimming and diving teams opened their seasons with the ninth annual Hartwick Relays at the Sally Griffiths Herbert &#8217;88 Aquatics Center on Saturday. The Hartwick men came away with a first-place finish as a team. The Hawk women placed fourth.<\/p>\n<p>The men finished the day with 118 points, in front of second-place St. Rose (100), Le Moyne (94), Oneonta (82), Cobleskill (36), and Wells (8). The top four teams on the women&#8217;s side finished within 12 points of each other.<\/p>\n<p>The &#8216;Wick men placed first in a total of six races on the day. Senior Miles Blaney (New York, NY\/NYC Lab School), junior Matt Plunkett (Cooper City, FL\/Cooper City), and sophomores Joe Mulvehill (Penfield, NY\/Penfield), Brian Edmister (Belmont, NY\/Genesee Valley Central), Luis Santiesteban (Key Largo, FL\/Coral Shores), and Brendan Quinn (Raleigh, NC\/Heritage) each were a part of three wining efforts for the Hawks.<\/p>\n<p>The Hartwick women earned a pair of first-place finishes. Junior Helen Merkley (Guilderland, NY\/Guilderland), sophomore Kelsey Elliott (Cortland, NY\/Homer), and seniors Kaitlyn Campbell (Bartlett, IL\/Glenbard North) and Gwen Mathias (Sunland, CA\/Southwestern Academy) were victorious in the 850 crescendo. Their time was 8:38.12.<\/p>\n<p>Imma Rutligiano (Tillson, NY\/John A. Coleman), Rachel Bellis (Canandaigua, NY\/Canandaigua Academy), Campbell, and Elliott also won the 400 free relay in 3:49.32.<\/p>\n<p>The Hartwick are back at home next Saturday in the Hartwick quad-meet.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hartwickhawks.com\/documents\/2014\/10\/18\/2014_10_18_HC_relays.htm\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Results: Hartwick Relays<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ONEONTA, New York, October 19.
