GAINESVILLE, Florida, October 15. The University of Florida men’s and women’s swimming & diving teams are on the road for the first time this season, as the Gators are traveling to Lexington, Ky. on Thursday (Oct. 16) to take on the Wildcats in UK’s Lancaster Aquatic Center at 7 p.m.<\/p>\n
UF will look to keep its perfect record against the Wildcats, as the Gators are a combined 25-0 all-time (Men, 14-0, Women, 11-0).<\/p>\n
Both teams are coming off dual meet wins over LSU, as the Gators won a combined 23 of 32 events, as the Gators defeated the Tigers, 162.5-122.5 (men) and 166-134 (women), respectively, to improve to a combined 36-0 all-time against the Tigers (M, 22-0, W, 14-0). In addition, UF registered seven NCAA \u2018B\u2019 standard times throughout the dual meet.<\/p>\n

Recent sickness coupled with the strongest dual meet team we have faced, will provide great experience for our teams later in the season. \u201d NATION\u2019S BEST<\/strong><\/p>\n Following last weekend’s Invite, Florida’s men hold the nation’s top times in five events, including the 200-yard freestyle (Pawel Werner, 1:37.08), 500-yard free (Mitch D’Arrigo, 4:24.67), 200-yard breaststroke (Matt Elliott, 1:58.05), 200-yard individual medley (Eduardo Solaeche-Gomez, 1:47.58) and the 400-yard IM (Elliott, 3:01.04).<\/p>\n For the women, Natalie Hinds holds the country’s top mark in the 100-yard free (48.95) and is second in the 100-yard fly (53.44), while Jessica Thielmann has recorded the nation\u2019s top-marks in the 500-yard free (4:47.82) and the 1,650-yard free (16:27.06).<\/p>\n TOP RELAYS<\/strong><\/p>\n The Gators also own the country’s top times in the men’s 400-yard freestyle relay (Main, Werner, Dressel, Curby; 2:57.61) and the 800-yard free relay (Dressel, Werner, Kaisrlik, D’Arrigo; 6:35.42).<\/p>\n Meanwhile, the Florida women lead the country in three relays, including the 200-yard free (Russell, Hinds, McKnight, Linn; 1:30.69), 200-yard medley (Russell, McKnight, Kuhn, Hinds; 1:40.22) and the 400-yard medley (Russell, McKnight, Hinds, Linn; 3:41.26).<\/p>\n WEEKLY AWARDS<\/strong><\/p>\n UF garnered three SEC weekly honors, conference officials announced Tuesday October 14. Two Gators are from the women\u2019s squad including juniors Jessica Thielmann (SEC Female Swimmer of the Week) and Kahlia Warner (SEC Female Diver of the Week). Meanwhile, freshman Caeleb Dressel earned the SEC Male Freshman of the Week award on the men\u2019s side.
