LOS ALAMITOS, California. April 13. THE top male water polo players in
\nthe country are set to showcase their talent in the final showdown of the
\n7th Annual Premier League- a high-caliber, three-month water polo tournament
\nseries at locations throughout California. The Premier League Championship
\ntournament will be held at the USA Water Polo National Training Center in
\nLos Alamitos, Calif., on April 21-23.<\/p>\n
The Championship tournament consists of the top six teams from the Premier
\nLeague Division I tournament. Those teams include New York Athletic Club,
\nLos Angeles Water Polo Club, Pacific Zone National Team, The Olympic Club,
\nCoastal California National Team and Long Beach Shore Aquatics. Also
\nincluded will be the top two teams from the Premier League Division II
\nChampionship, which is to be held on April 14-16 in Stockton, Calif. Each of
\nthese eight teams has made it through three months of rigorous competition
\nagainst many of the best athletes in the United States.<\/p>\n
"Over the last several months the level of competition has risen
\ndramatically," said Men's National Team Head Coach Ricardo Azevedo. "I am
\nlooking forward to a very exciting and competitive Championship."<\/p>\n
Numerous USA Water Polo National Team Athletes will participate at the
\nChampionship including the following Olympians: Brandon Brooks (Honolulu,
\nHI.\/UCLA 2004\/Los Angeles WPC), Brett Ormsby (El Cajon, Calif.\/UCLA 2006\/Los
\nAngeles WPC), Sean Nolan (Palo Alto, Calif.\/UC Berkeley 1994\/The Olympic
\nClub), Genai Kerr (San Diego, Calif.\/UC Irvine\/Shore Aquatics), Juraj
\nZatovic (Slovakia\/USC\/Shore Aquatics), Wolf Wigo (New York, N.Y.\/Stanford
\n1995\/New York AC) and Sean Kern (Honolulu, HI.\/UCLA 2002\/New York AC).
\nAdditional Olympians will be present and several others may be playing.<\/p>\n
