BURLINGTON, Vermont, October 11. Wagner Swimming stepped up to win a second meet this season, downing Vermont 161-139.<\/p>\n
Wagner Press Release<\/strong><\/p>\n The Wagner Women’s Swimming & Diving team won their second match of the season when they faced the University of Vermont today by a 161-139 count.<\/p>\n Sophomore Anu Nihipali (Honolulu, HI \/ Hawaii Preparatory Academy) finished first in three separate events this afternoon. She won the 100 and 200 Backstroke by posting times of 56.14 and 2:05.98 in that order. With her time in the 100 Backstroke, Nihipali broke the University of Vermont’s pool record. She also helped the team by winning the 200 IM with a time off 2:11.30.<\/p>\n Junior Amanda Lucia (Easthampton, MA \/ Easthampton) won the 1000 Freestyle and the 200 Butterfly for the second day in a row when she posted times of 10:37.14 and 2:06.75 respectively. Lucia contributed a third win on the day when she finished the 500 Freestyle in a time of 5:12.68.<\/p>\n Freshman Maggie Slocomb won the 200 breaststroke for the second straight day and did so by posting a time of 2:25.47.<\/p>\n Junior Erica Curry (Fountain Valley, CA \/ Fountain Valley), freshmen Sam Lavrich (Audubon, PA \/ Methacton), and senior Mallory Lee (Newark, CA \/ Moreau Catholic) finished 1st, 2nd, and 3rd respectively in the 1-Meter dive.<\/p>\n The Green & White return to the pool on Saturday, October 25 when they head to New York, NY to face Iona, Saint Francis Brooklyn, and Sacred Heart in a meet that begins at 11:30 am.<\/p>\n
