ANN ARBOR, Michigan, October 11. Siobhan Haughey, a Junior World Championships and Youth Olympic Games medalist from Hong Kong, has verbally committed to attend the University of Michigan next fall, joining an already strong freshman recruiting class that includes Becca Postoll and Catie DeLoof.<\/p>\n

Haughey is one of the top young sprinters in Asia, and holds the Hong Kong national record in the long course 50m free at 25.38. Her personal best in the 100m free is 54.47, which she set in winning the event at the 2013 Junior World Championships. Those times convert to around 22.1 and 47.6 in yards, which would put her right in the mix to score at the NCAA Championships.<\/p>\n

Haughey should make a huge impact on the Wolverine relays as well.
