COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado, October 2.\u00a0Eighteen Olympians, including individual gold medalists\u00a0Tyler Clary<\/strong>\u00a0(Riverside, Calif.),\u00a0Natalie Coughlin<\/strong>\u00a0(Vallejo, Calif.),\u00a0Matt Grevers\u00a0<\/strong>(Lake Forest, Ill.) and\u00a0Ryan Lochte<\/strong>\u00a0(Daytona Beach, Fla.), will lead the Team USA roster for the 2014 FINA Swimming World Championships (25m) \u2013 set for Dec. 3-7 in Doha, Qatar \u2013 USA Swimming announced today.<\/p>\n

Additional U.S. Olympic gold medalists named to the roster include\u00a0Claire Donahue<\/strong>\u00a0(Lenoir City, Tenn.),\u00a0Conor Dwyer<\/strong>\u00a0(Winnetka, Ill.),\u00a0Cullen Jones<\/strong>\u00a0(Irvington, N.J.),\u00a0Breeja Larson<\/strong>\u00a0(Mesa, Ariz.),\u00a0Matt McLean<\/strong>\u00a0(Sterling, Va.),\u00a0Nick Thoman<\/strong>\u00a0(Cincinnati, Ohio) and\u00a0Shannon Vreeland<\/strong>\u00a0(Overland Park, Kan.).<\/p>\n

In total, 37 Americans \u2013 20 women and 17 men \u2013 will compete in Doha. The complete U.S. roster for the 2014 FINA Swimming World Championships (25m) can be found at\u00a0usaswimming.org<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Lochte is expected to compete in a team-high six individual events (200m free, 200m back, 50m and 100m fly, and 100m and 200m IM), while Clary is slated for five individual races (200m back; 200m fly; 100m, 200m and 400m IM).<\/p>\n

On the women\u2019s side, two-time Olympian\u00a0Elizabeth Beisel\u00a0<\/strong>(Saunderstown, R.I.) and\u00a0Melanie Margalis<\/strong>\u00a0(Clearwater, Fla.) are scheduled to swim four individual events each.<\/p>\n

In addition, two-time Olympians\u00a0Katie Hoff<\/strong>\u00a0(Towson, Md.) and\u00a0Amanda Weir<\/strong>\u00a0(Lawrenceville, Ga.) will represent the U.S. internationally for the first time since the 2011 FINA World Championships and 2012 Olympic Games, respectively. A three-time Olympian and gold medalist for South Africa,\u00a0Darian Townsend<\/strong>\u00a0(Phoenix, Ariz.) will compete for Team USA for the first time internationally after becoming a U.S. citizen earlier this year.<\/p>\n

Additional Olympians named to the roster include\u00a0Cammile Adams<\/strong>\u00a0(Cypress, Texas),\u00a0Jimmy Feigen<\/strong>\u00a0(San Antonio, Texas) and\u00a0Caitlin Leverenz<\/strong>\u00a0(Tucson, Ariz.).<\/p>\n

The 12th<\/sup>\u00a0FINA Swimming World Championships (25m) will be contested over five days at the Hamad Aquatic Center in Doha. Forty-six events (34 individual and 12 relays) are slated for the competition program, and a total of 138 medals will be up for grabs.
