REPEAT championships were on the agenda as the NCAA Division II Championships concluded on Saturday night. On the men\u2019s side, Drury totaled 649 points to defeat Cal State-Bakersfield (543.5). As for the women, Truman State grabbed the top slot with 664 points, plenty more than the 505 points of Drury. The championship was a record sixth straight for Truman, which relied heavily on its depth and prevailed despite not holding favorite status.<\/p>\n<p>Drury iced its victory as Jakub Jiracek (1:57.79) and Artem Sloudnov (2:00.41) took the top two spots in the 200 breaststroke. The Panthers also posted a sweep of the top three positions in the 1,650 freestyle, thanks to the performances of Ryan Norrie (15:28.59), Mitch Snyder (15:31.62) and Michael Lewandowski (15:32.29).<\/p>\n<p>Tampa\u2019s Cole Tedhams, already the winner of the 50 free, placed first in the 100 freestyle in 44.07, just ahead of the 44.22 of North Dakota\u2019s Rodrigo Ferreira. To conclude the meet, Ferreira helped North Dakota win the 400 free relay as he teamed with Adam Rollins, Eric Knight and Per Westergren for an effort of 2:59.94. Henderson State\u2019s Emre Celik won the 200 back in 1:45.94.<\/p>\n<p>In the women\u2019s competition, West Chester\u2019s Tammy Leane and Kathrin Dumitru punctuated spectacular weeks with respective triumphs in the 200 backstroke and 200 breaststroke. Leane covered the 200 back in 2:00.07, just ahead of the 2:00.27 of Truman\u2019s Whitney Wodstrchill. As for Dumitru, she defeated the field in the 200 breast with a time of 2:16.36.<\/p>\n<p>Other wins on the female side came from UC-San Diego\u2019s Sophie Levy in the 1,650 free (16:57.99) and Drury\u2019s Mariana De Oliveira in the 100 free (50.58). Drury\u2019s 400 free relay of Lindsay Zirkle, Ashley Gorman, Cara Fadel and De Oliveira took top honors in 3:26.58.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana, March 11.
