SANTA BARBARA, Calif. February 26. CAYLINN Wallace halted 14 shots and three different field players scored two goals apiece to lead the No. 8 Arizona State University water polo team to a 10-8 defeat of No. 13 UC Irvine Sunday at the Gaucho Invitational in Santa Barbara, Calif. The victory improved the Sun Devils\u2019 record to 8-3 on the year.<\/p>\n
After both teams scored just one goal each in the first quarter, the Sun Devils outscored the Anteaters, 4-2, in the second stanza in what would prove to be the difference in the game. Both teams scored three times in the third quarter before both added two goals in the fourth quarter.<\/p>\n
Offensively, Ashley Bower, Raelyn Ritchie and Rowie Webster each scored twice for the Sun Devils while single goals were tallied by Addison Doud, Katie Hedley, Katy Lawlor and Tessa Wyborny.<\/p>\n
ASU closes out the tournament by facing No. 11 UC Santa Barbara in the ninth-place game Sunday afternoon.<\/p>\n
