STANFORD, California, September 4.\u00a0TRACY<\/span>\u00a0Duchac has been promoted to Associate Head Coach of the Stanford women\u2019s swimming and diving team, Bernard Muir, The Jaquish & Kenninger Director of Athletics, announced today. Duchac has spent the past two seasons as an assistant for the Cardinal.<\/p>\n \u201cWhen Greg brought me on board two years ago, he was very clear and concise about what his vision was for this program,\u201d said Duchac. \u201cHis leadership, support and clear communication of my role has given me the confidence to hit the ground running. I am truly honored and thankful to him for this opportunity. The history of this University, this athletic department, and the legacy of this program speaks for itself. I am thankful every day to be a part of it and I look forward to what is to come.\u201d<\/p>\n Duchac was instrumental in Stanford\u2019s second-place showing at the 2014 NCAA Championships. The Cardinal won four of five relays, Maya DiRado swept the IM races and Felicia Lee won the 100 fly, as Stanford outpaced expectations on its way to its best NCAA showing since 2010.<\/p>\n The former honorable mention All-American at Purdue was also an assistant when Stanford claimed eighth at the NCAA meet in 2013. The Cardinal has claimed 67 All-America honors during her two years on The Farm, including 11 from DiRado, who doubled as an Academic All-American.<\/p>\n In addition to her success with current student-athletes, Duchac has been vital in the recruiting process. Her efforts helped Stanford sign what many considered to be the No. 1 class in 2013-14, which was highlighted by 2014-15 U.S. National Team member Simone Manuel.<\/p>\n \u201cEveryone associated with our program knows that Tracy is much more than an assistant,\u201d said head coach Greg Meehan. \u201cShe is a phenomenal coach, recruiter and role model for the women in our program.\u00a0Her daily commitment to make our program better has been instrumental in our recent success. I\u2019m thrilled for Tracy and her family and look forward to our continued success.\u201d<\/p>\n Prior to arriving at Stanford, Duchac spent one year as an assistant at Arizona and five years in the same role at Texas A&M. During her tenure at Texas A&M, the Aggies posted a program-best five top-10 finishes at the NCAA Championships, including a fourth-place effort in 2008.<\/p>\n Duchac, who also spent one season as a volunteer assistant at her alma mater, earned a health promotion degree from Purdue in 2006. She is a former CSCAA All-Academic honoree and a three-time Academic All-Big Ten selection.<\/p>\n
