GOLD COAST, Australia, August 29. COMING in as the top-ranked swimmer in the world in the 200 backstroke, Ryosuke Irie was a strong contender for gold in the 200 backstroke at the Pan Pacific championships. But the Japanese star fell short with a silver medal behind Tyler Clary in a race that he called \u201cdisappointing\u201d when talking with the media after accepting his medal.<\/p>\n
