ON the strength of a victory in the 800 freestyle relay, the University of Virginia vaulted to the top of the standings after the first day of the Atlantic Coast Conference Championships, held at the University of Maryland. The Cavaliers amassed 74 points, slightly more than the 72 points of Florida State.<\/p>\n<p>Virginia turned to the quartet of Megan Evo, Katy Bland, Katie Gordon and Rachael Burke in the 800 free relay. The unit was timed in 7:16.72, ahead of second place Clemson (7:18.70) and third place Florida State (7:19.57). <\/p>\n<p>In the 200 medley relay, Florida State posted the fastest time, a 1:38.59 courtesy of Christie Raleigh, Lauren Brick, Lauren Sparg and Carrie Ellis.
