LOS ANGELES, California, February 13. THE University of Southern California wrapped up the dual-meet portion of its schedule over the weekend with a 177-123 victory over UCLA. The Trojans established one school record and were powered by individual triple-win outings from Rhi Jeffrey and Rebecca Soni. USC\u2019s win was its 11th in 13 years against the Bruins.<\/p>\n

Southern Cal picked up its school record in the 200 medley relay as the quartet of Hayley McGregory, Soni, Kristen Lahey and Missy McIntyre clocked in at 1:39.97, under the former standard of 1:40.56. Meanwhile, Jeffrey cruised to first-place finishes in the 50, 100 and 200 freestyles. Jeffrey clocked UCLA pool records in the 50 (22.67) and 200 (1:46.26) distances. As for Soni, she prevailed in the 100 and 200 breaststrokes and won the 400 individual medley.<\/p>\n

The Bruins were paced by Kim Vandenberg, who claimed top honors in the 100 butterfly with a swim of 54.47 and also bested the competition in the 200 fly with a performance of 1:56.90. Katie Arnold topped the field in the 100 backstroke (54.41) and also claimed first place in the 200 backstroke (1:58.53). <\/p>\n
