RYAN Lochte and Michael Phelps will race in adjacent lanes in tomorrow\u2019s 200 IM preliminaries at the Pan Pacific championships, serving up a possible preview of the championship final that will feature another great battle between the two fastest in the event in history.<\/p>\n<p>Lochte will start in lane four of the third heat, while Phelps will line up in lane five. The two qualified for Pan Pacs thanks to a thrilling nailbiter at nationals that saw Lochte win by just five hundredths of a second over Phelps. How will their friendly rivalry shake out tomorrow?<\/p>\n<p>Three scratches in the event caused a shift in the seeds. Americans Michael Weiss and Josh Prenot will not swim, and Daniel Tranter of Australia withdrew from the meet earlier for personal reasons.<\/p>\n<p>With Lochte and Phelps the presumed American entries into the championship final, we could see some fast swims from the other four Americans for the one open spot in the B final. Conor Dwyer, Chase Kalisz, Tyler Clary and Jacob Pebley will swim in tomorrow\u2019s prelims.<\/p>\n<p>The men\u2019s and women\u2019s 50 freestyles and 200 breaststrokes will also be contested in the morning. One heat each of the men\u2019s 800 free and the women\u2019s 1500 free will be swum as timed final swims, with the fastest heat contested in the evening session.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, the
