For complete coverage of the Pan Pacific Championships, check out our <a href=\"http:\/\/tv.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/events\/2014-pan-pacific-championships\" target=\"_blank\">event landing page<\/a>. <\/i><\/p>\n<p>GOLD COAST, Australia, August 22.\u00a0KOSUKE\u00a0Hagino scored a huge victory for Japanese individual medley as he won in a time\u00a0of 4:08.31 in the 400-meter IM at the Pan Pacific Championships. \u00a0That\u2019s the first time Japan has ever won the intercontinental title, much less even take second in the event. \u00a0Takahiro Mori was the lone medalist for Japan in the event with a bronze in 2002.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #53565a;\">Hagino\u2019s time came up a bit short of his own\u00a0world-leading 4:07.88 from Japanese Nationals.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #53565a;\">The U.S. demonstrated its depth in the event with Tyler Clary (4:09.03) and Chase Kalisz (4:09.62) taking silver and bronze.
