January, 18.  THE Westminster College men&#39;s &#038; women&#39;s swimming teams each finished their 2005-06 Presidents&#39; Athletic Conference (PAC) schedules unbeaten in league dual meet action tonight at the Natatorium, as the Titans and Lady Titans posted a dual sweep of visiting PAC rival Grove City College. The WC men (8-1-1, 3-0 PAC) posted a 112.5-92.5 victory over the Wolverines, while the Lady Titans (8-2, 3-0 PAC) topped GCC by a score of 110-92.<\/p>\n<p>Four Titan men were double winners against Grove City. Freshman Zac Gebhardt (Monroeville\/Gateway H.S.) touched first in both the 500 (4:55.73) and 1000 freestyle (10:10.92) events. Junior Pat Smith (South Park\/South Park H.S.) and freshmen Chris Lehberger (New Wilmington\/Wilmington Area H.S.) (photo attached) and Conor Simpson (Monroeville\/Gateway H.S.) all swam legs for the winning 400 medley relay team while adding individual wins: Smith in the 200 backstroke (2:01.86), Lehberger in the 200 individual medley (2:02.20) and Simpson in the 200 butterfly (2:00.59).<\/p>\n<p>The Westminster women also had four swimmers post double victories against the Lady Wolverines. Junior Britt Thomas (Bethel Park\/Bethel Park H.S.) (photo attached) touched first in both the 500 (5:27.57) and 1000 freestyle (11:01.70), while sophomore Steph Peters (Finleyville\/Peters Township H.S.) captured the 100 (56.62) AND 200 freestyle (2:02.99) events. Junior Megan McLaughlin (Wooster, OH\/Wooster H.S.) and freshman Megan Mier (Akron, OH\/Revere H.S.) each swam legs for the 400 freestyle relay team which touched first in 3:51.01, with McLaughlin also winning the 50 freestyle (25.76) and Mier capturing the 200 backstroke (2:13.67).<\/p>\n<p>Both Westminster swim teams return to the pool next Saturday (Jan. 28), as they close their 2005-06 dual meet schedule with a non-conference Senior Day matchup against Carnegie Mellon at 1 p.m.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>NEW WILMINGTON, Pa.
