{"id":105931,"date":"2014-08-13T06:34:57","date_gmt":"2014-08-13T13:34:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=105931"},"modified":"2014-08-13T06:34:57","modified_gmt":"2014-08-13T13:34:57","slug":"synchronized-prelims-set-up-strong-finals-at-usa-diving-nationals","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/synchronized-prelims-set-up-strong-finals-at-usa-diving-nationals\/","title":{"rendered":"Synchronized Prelims Set Up Strong Finals at USA Diving Nationals"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Photo by Matthew DeMaria\/Tennessee Athletics<\/p>\n<p>KNOXVILLE, Tennessee, August 13.\u00a0THE\u00a0field is set for the weekend synchronized diving finals after preliminary competition\u00a0<span data-term=\"goog_642218128\">Tuesday<\/span>\u00a0at the AT&amp;T National Diving Championships.<\/p>\n<p>2008 Olympian\u00a0<strong>Ariel Rittenhouse<\/strong>\u00a0(Santa Cruz, Calif.) and\u00a0<strong>Amanda Burke<\/strong>\u00a0(Southampton, Pa.\/State College, Pa.) head into the women\u2019s 3-meter synchro finals as the top qualifiers, finishing first with 285.90 in the prelims.\u00a0<strong>Deidre Freeman<\/strong>\u00a0(Grinnell, Iowa\/Iowa City, Iowa) and\u00a0<strong>Maren Taylor<\/strong>\u00a0(Arlington, Va.\/Austin, Texas) were second with 274.20 points.<\/p>\n<p>In men\u2019s 3-meter synchro, the top qualifiers were\u00a0<strong>Cory Bowersox<\/strong>\u00a0(Burke, Va.\/Austin, Texas) and\u00a0<strong>Zachary Nees<\/strong>\u00a0(Hatfield, Pa.) with 411.93 points.\u00a0<strong>Bryce Klein<\/strong>\u00a0(Southlake, Texas) and\u00a0<strong>Bradley Christensen<\/strong>\u00a0(Southlake, Texas\/Stanford, Calif.) were second at 399.03.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Brandon Loschiavo<\/strong>\u00a0(Huntington Beach, Calif.) and\u00a0<strong>Tarek Abdelghany<\/strong>\u00a0(Ladera Ranch, Calif.) were first in the men\u2019s synchronized 10-meter preliminaries with 377.25 points, with\u00a0<strong>Zach Cooper<\/strong>\u00a0(Trafalgar, Ind.) and\u00a0<strong>Tanner Wilfong<\/strong>\u00a0(Hershey, Pa.\/Coral Gables, Fla.) in second at 366.33.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Murphy Bromberg<\/strong>\u00a0(Bexley, Ohio\/Austin, Texas) and\u00a0<strong>Emma Ivory-Ganja<\/strong>\u00a0(The Woodlands, Texas\/Austin, Texas) finished first in the women\u2019s 10-meter synchro prelims at 282.00.\u00a0<strong>Rachel Rubadue<\/strong>\u00a0(Columbus, Ohio) and<strong>Olivia Rosendahl<\/strong>\u00a0(Los Angeles, Calif.), who won this event at last week\u2019s USA Diving Junior National Championships, were second with 267.33 points.<\/p>\n<p>The top six teams in each of the synchro events qualify for the finals.\u00a0 The men\u2019s 10-meter and women\u2019s 3-meter synchro finals will be contested\u00a0<span data-term=\"goog_642218129\">Saturday<\/span>, with women\u2019s 10-meter and men\u2019s 3-meter synchro on the schedule for\u00a0<span data-term=\"goog_642218130\">Sunday<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>The AT&amp;T National Diving Championships continue through\u00a0<span data-term=\"goog_642218131\">Sunday, August 17<\/span>.\u00a0<span data-term=\"goog_642218132\">Wednesday\u2019s<\/span>\u00a0competition features men\u2019s and women\u2019s 1-meter preliminaries and finals.
