He will officially join the organization August 15.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Palatino Linotype', serif;\">Ben is an internationally-accomplished coach who is highly-respected throughout the swimming community. An ASCA level 5 certified coach, Ben\u2019s background includes two Division 1 college assistant coaching positions (University of Alabama and University of Kentucky) as well as head coach and director roles at four premier competitive swim organizations (High Point Swim Club, N.C.; Tualatin Hills Swim Club, OR; Birmingham Swim League, AL and Wildcat Aquatics, KY). <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Palatino Linotype', serif;\">Additionally, Ben was selected to coach multiple National and International teams including head coach for the 1994 U.S. National Junior team and head coach for Turkey in the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. Ben has also held three different LSC leadership positions as past general chairman for Oregon Swimming, Southeastern Swimming and <\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'Palatino Linotype', serif;\">Kentucky Swimming. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Palatino Linotype', serif;\">Ben has coached more than 95 USA Junior National qualifiers (with 9 individual champions), more than 50 USA National qualifiers, 31 USA Olympic Trial qualifiers, 15 USA National team members and 2 Olympians including 1988 Gold Medal Winner Brent Lang. Additionally, his record indicates the ability to develop across disciplines and strokes, including success with both distance and sprint swimmers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u201c<span style=\"font-family: 'Palatino Linotype', serif;\">Hiring Ben was an easy decision,\u201d said Anthony Norris, President of the MTS Board. \u201cBen has a proven track record of helping his swimmers reach the highest levels of achievement, and he had stellar recommendations from some of the biggest names in competitive swimming.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Palatino Linotype', serif;\"><b>About Memphis Tiger Swimming<\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'Palatino Linotype', serif;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Palatino Linotype', serif;\">MTS is a USA Swimming-sanctioned, year round competitive swim team offering high quality professional coaching and technique instruction for all ages and abilities.
