IRVINE, California, August 8. AFTER setting the U.S. Open record in the 50 breast in prelims, Brendan McHugh backed that up with a national title, defeating Kevin Cordes in a tight finale. McHugh spoke afterwards about his thoughts on the race, where he had to use a strong finish to edge ahead of Cordes. He also shared thoughts about his training and his expectations headed into the Olympic distance of the 100 tomorrow.<\/p>\n
