TODAY&#8217;S preliminary competition at the USA Swimming junior nationals will feature some of the nation&#8217;s top teenagers battling for spots in one of the eight lanes for the championship final, or several spots available for the B and C finals.<\/p>\n<p><a href=http:\/\/usaswimming.org\/_Rainbow\/Documents\/5f6437e5-351a-404c-ac9e-fac8133766eb\/2014%20Juniors%20-%20Friday%20AM%20Heat%20Sheet.pdf>CLICK HERE TO VIEW FRIDAY PRELIM HEAT SHEETS<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Today&#8217;s events include the women&#8217;s and men&#8217;s 400 freestyle, as well as the women&#8217;s and men&#8217;s 100 butterfly.<\/p>\n<p>Sierra Schmidt, the winner of the women&#8217;s 800 free, will be looking for the distance double tonight. Townley Haas will show off his diversity one day after winning the 100 free final, aiming for a 400 free victory today.<\/p>\n<p>How many ladies will break the 1:00 barrier in the 100 fly prelims? Michelle Cefal is the only swimmer seeded in the 59-second range with a 59.13, but she could bring along a few others in the race for spots in the final.
