INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana, July 30. CAMRYN Forbes, Zack Warner and Mark Andrew all set new YMCA national records during the third night of racing at the YMCA National Long Course Championships, while the race for the team title remained close on both the women\u2019s and men\u2019s sides.<\/p>\n

Camryn Forbes of the Butler YMCA got the night off to a record-breaking start, lowering Tricia Weaner\u2019s 10 year old national record of 1:02.73 in the women\u2019s 100 back to a 1:02.68. Kacey Oberlander of York wasn\u2019t far off the record either, touching second in 1:03.09. Countryside teammates Emily Slabe and Marianne Kahmann tied with matching 1:03.66s for third. Top seed Tristan Sanders of Suncoast held onto his first place ranking in the men\u2019s final, posting a 56.61 to defeat Edwardsville\u2019s Sean Workman (57.47) and Kishwaukee\u2019s Daniel Hein (57.90).<\/p>\n

In this morning\u2019s prelims, Olivia Ontjes of Triangle Area lowered her own national record in the women\u2019s 50 breast with a 32.62, bettering her mark of 32.76 from last year. In tonight\u2019s final, however, W. North Carolina\u2019s Alyssa Arwood powered by Ontjes to win in 32.72. Ontjes settled for second in 32.99, with Triangle Area teammate Claire Williams in third at 33.66. After just missing Conner McHugh\u2019s national record in the men\u2019s 50 breast this morning, Somerset Valley\u2019s Zack Warner tied the record tonight with a 28.53, matching McHugh\u2019s time from last year\u2019s meet. McHugh, who competes for Door County, finished second in the race in 28.62, while Wheeling\u2019s Michael Eaton finished third in 29.48.<\/p>\n

After finishing on the podium twice in the past two days, Wilton\u2019s Verity Abel picked up her first win of the meet after touching in 4:56.69 in the women\u2019s 400 IM. Abel made up a nearly three second deficit on second place finisher Julie Lajoie of Greater Holyoke (4:57.50) over the final 100 to take the win. Maddy Thomas of York came in third in 4:58.89. In the men\u2019s 400 IM final, Wilton\u2019s Maxwell Dolan and Greater Miami Valley\u2019s Mark Andrew battled throughout the race before Andrew held on to win in a new national record of 4:27.25. That just clipped David Ingraham\u2019s 2011 record by .02, and was only .17 in front of Dolan\u2019s 4:27.42. Luke Lechner of W. North Carolina rounded out the top three in 4:30.56.<\/p>\n

Caitlynn Moon of Kishwaukee picked up her second win of the meet, adding to her win in the 1500 free on night one, with a 2:02.62 in the women\u2019s 200 free. She just out-touched Countryside\u2019s Ali Marsteller, who came in at 2:02.69. Maggie Werba of Oshkosh came in third at 2:04.07. After setting a national record and winning the 400 free last night, Countryside\u2019s Grant House picked up another win, this time in the 200 free. House hit the wall in 1:51.12, only .02 in front of Ocean County\u2019s Zachary Molloy (1:51.14). Colin Ellington of Triangle Area, winner of the 50 free last night, took third in 1:53.66.<\/p>\n

York\u2019s foursome of Kacey Oberlander, Megan Hunt, Emily Ilgenfritz and Becca Luft cruised to a win in the women\u2019s 400 medley relay, touching in 4:19.83. Triangle Area\u2019s Kelsey Lawton, Olivia Ontjes, Haley Bishop and Jenny Nusbaum came in just over half a second later in 4:20.54, followed closely by Countryside\u2019s Emily Slabe, Ali Marsteller, Megan Sichterman and Sally Clough in 4:20.55.<\/p>\n

Somerset Valley\u2019s Brad Zdroik, Zack Warner, Joseph Delbuono and Jason Tan claimed the men\u2019s medley relay title in 3:50.79, not far in front of Ocean County\u2019s Ryan O\u2019Neill, Jacob Limaldi, Ben Smith and Zachary Molloy (3:51.15). Wilton\u2019s quartet of Edward Stolarski, Maxwell Dolan, Tommy Kealy and Hugo Sykes hit the wall third in 3:54.22.<\/p>\n

After two days of racing, Ocean County leads the men\u2019s team race with 181 points, followed closely by Wilton with 177. Countryside Ralph Stolle sits third with 166 points. Triangle Area currently sits atop the women\u2019s standings with 189 points, only three ahead of Wilton (186). York is third with 155 points.<\/p>\n
