GREENSBORO, North Carolina, October 26. AS Florida State swept to a trio of Atlantic Coast Conference victories last week in male and female action, Steve Roof and Romy Altmann carried the Seminoles, Roof for the men\u2019s team and Altmann for the women\u2019s program. For their efforts, they were lauded by the ACC with Swimmer of the Week accolades.<\/p>\n
As the Florida State men, ranked 17th, earned triumphs over Georgia Tech, Maryland and Virginia Tech in a quad meet, Roof won the 500 (4:30.77) and 1,000 freestyles (9:21.01). He also finished third in the 400 individual medley and helped the 400 medley relay to a third-place showing.<\/p>\n
In guiding the women\u2019s team to wins over Georgia Tech, Maryland and Virginia Tech, Altmann was the winner of the 200 backstroke (2:01.67) and aided the victorious 400 medley relay.
