SOUTH BEND, Indiana, October 6. THE University of Notre Dame will host the Dennis Stark Relays this weekend, marking the season-opener for the Irish on both the male and female side. The competition is scheduled for Friday at 6:30 p.m. at the Rolfs Aquatic Center. The Irish are the defending Big East Conference champions for both genders.<\/p>\n

The relay competition will also feature squads from Ball State, Cleveland State, Marquette, Oakland (Mich.), Valparaiso and Wisconsin-Milwaukee. There will be 13 events contested \u2013 11 swimming and two diving. The meet is named in honor of Dennis Stark, who was the head coach of the Irish from 1958-85. This year marks the 41st edition of the relays.<\/p>\n
