Last year Misty Hyman, 2000 Olympic gold medalist in the 200 butterfly, swam in the race and liked St. Croix so much she now lives there and works at The Buccaneer Hotel where the race finishes. The hotel offers a 25% discount to all race participants and guests. Airline tickets are still a good deal. All proceeds go to The Nature Conservancy.
