From the East and West, North and South, swimmers from all ages came from all over the country – and even other parts of the world – to compete in the United States Masters Swimming (USMS) Spring Championships.

The meet drew a record 2,500-plus athletes, showing that after the COVID-19 pandemic, masters swimming is indeed on the rise.

Swimmers from hundreds of clubs competed in the meet in Irvine, California. It was the first time Irvine hosted a masters national meet since 1981, and it was a roaring success.

The ages spanned from the 20-24 group all the way to the 100-104 group where Maurine Kornfeld put together another couple record swims and continued to inspire. She swims for the Rose Bowl Masters along with swimmers of all ages.

There were 56 masters age group records set in the short-course meet.
