Teuscher, Maurer Sweep at L.I. Open

LONG ISLAND, July 16. Veterans Cristina Teuscher and Lea Maurer, both of the Badger Swim Club, completed their sweeps of their respective events at the Long island Open meet.

Teuscher won the 200 IM by over seven seconds, notching her fourth win. Earlier she had won the 200 and 400 free and the 400 IM. Despite having an easy time of it in the shorter medley, Teuscher still clocked a very solid 2:15.70.

Maurer added the 100 back to her earlier win in the 200, touching in 1:02.33 after splitting 30.11 at the 50. She finished almost two seconds ahead of Brielle White at 1:04.27.

Another veteran, Richelle Fox, had no trouble in taking the 100 fly, recording a 1:01.47–more than a second faster than Alice Henriques (1:02.66).a

Erin Eldridge took the 100 breast in 1:11.39, with 1992 Olympian, Anita Nall, second in 1:12.92.
