NEW COMMIT: The University of South Carolina has received a verbal commitment from Rachel Lee. Lee swims for SwimMAC Carolina and will soon be a senior at Charlotte Christian School.

She wrote in her Instagram announcement,

“I’m so happy to announce my verbal commitment to swim at the University of South Carolina! Blessed to have this opportunity. Go cocks!!”

Lee’s best events are backstroke but she swam breaststroke and IM for her high school team this year. Her top times are:

  • 100 Back 55.59
  • 200 Back 1:59.11
  • 100 Breast 1:06.02
  • 200 IM 2:05.63

At the 2017 North Carolina Independent School 3A State Championship Lee finished third in the 200 IM (2:05.63) and second in the 100 breaststroke (1:06.16).

Mari Kraus is also verbally committed to the Gamecocks. Kraus is primarily a backstroker.
