Simone Manuel Surges to First-Place 100 Free at Knoxville Pro Swim Series

Simone Manuel, the American and U.S. Open Record holder in the 100 free, narrowly edged out High Performance Ontario’s Penny Oleksiak for the win in Knoxville. Oleksiak was ultimately disqualified. Manuel finished in 53.42 with a strong surge to the wall in the final ten meters.

Margo Geer ended up being the runner up in 54.09 with High Performance Ontario’s Kayla Sanchez third in 54.53. Athen’s Bulldogs’ Natalie Hinds was third at the fifty and finished fourth in 55.14. She was followed by Kelsi Dahlia (55.33), Gabby Deloof (55.44) and Gretchen Walsh (55.44).

ditto. Why? I was there. Watched the video of the start several times; she was slow to step up, but no indication she moved.
