The first gold medals of the weekend were earned at the 2015 Pan American Games in diving.

Mexico’s Rommel Pacheco won the men’s three-meter springboard event with 483.35 points, while compatriot Jahir Ocampo took silver with 442.15 points.

Canada’s Philippe Gagne checked in with 421.20 points for bronze.

Mexico’s Paola Espinosa captured the women’s 10-meter platform title with 383.20 points.

Canada’s Roseline Filion (377.60) and Meaghan Benfeito (357.45) snagged silver and bronze.
