Robert Glinta Wins Again at Romanian Nationals

Robert Glinta swept the backstroke events at the 2016 Romanian Nationals.

Glinta picked up another title today with a 2:00.57 to win the men’s 200-meter back.  Daniel Martin touched second in 2:02.30 with Alexandru Badeata finishing third in 2:05.46.

Glinta already won the 50 back (25.69) and 100 back (54.32) earlier in the meet.

Bogdan Scarlat won the men’s 1500-meter free in a time of 15:23.63, while Sabin Bonea touched second in 15:59.79.  Bogdan Petre placed third in 16:02.04.

Dumitrescu Colti topped the women’s 800-meter free in 9:04.73 with Maria Gadea earning second in 9:08.59.  Gabriela Gadea snared third in 9:17.98.

Carina Macavel claimed the women’s 200-meter back with a time of 2:16.73.  Tatiana Perstniova placed second in 2:20.75 with Ariana Dodita took third in 2:24.40.

Pavel Isbisciuc took down the men’s 50-meter fly in 24.51 with Alexandru Coci finished second in 24.81.  Sergiu Deznan rounded out the top three in 24.96.

Ana Dascal turned in a 28.04 to win the women’s 50-meter fly.  Kristina Schneider grabbed second in 28.55 with Andreea Puchiu taking third in 28.58.

Andrei Roman clocked a 2:21.16 to capture the men’s 200-meter breast.  Atila Abibula picked up second in 2:22.03, while George Oancea took third in 2:22.50.

Maria Gadea tied Simona Savastita for the women’s 200-meter breast with 2:38.02s. Denisa Gogu took third in 2:38.23.
