Ohio HS Champ David Madej Gives Stanford His Verbal Commitment

NEW COMMIT: Ohio high school state champion David Madej has given his verbal commitment to swim for Stanford University.

Madej swims for SwimStrongsville where he is a versatile sprinter. Among his best SCY times are:

  • 50 Back 22.53
  • 100 Back 48.88
  • 50 Fly 21.85
  • 100 Fly 48.39
  • 50 Free 20.41
  • 100 Free 44.17
  • 200 Free 20.41

At the 2017 Ohio High School Division 1 Championships Madej led off Brecksville’s third place 200 medley relay. He was later runner up in the 50 freestyle (20.56) before capturing the 100 freestyle state title in 44.17. The team’s 400 freestyle relay also finished fourth with Madej taking the second leg.

Madej shared in his Twitter announcement,

“I’m honored and humbled to announce my verbal commitment to continue my swimming and academics at Stanford University.”

At the 2017 Pac 12 Conference Championship Madej would have been a C finalist in the 100 freestyle, backstroke, and butterfly as well as the 50 free.

Jack LeVant will also head to Stanford in the fall of 2018.
