North Dakota State Champ Liv Hettinger Will Head South, Verbals to Florida Gulf Coast

NEW COMMIT: Florida Gulf Coast University has received a new verbal commitment for the 2022-23 season and beyond from Liv Hettinger of West Fargo, North Dakota.

She will join Cameron Kuriger as a member of the Eagles’ Class of 2026.

Regarding her commitment, she said:

“I am super excited to announce my verbal commitment to study and continue my swimming career at Florida Gulf Coast University! I’m so grateful for everyone that helped me get here! Go Eagles! #wingsup”

A talented sprinter and backstroker, Hettinger does her club swimming with West Fargo Flyers and most recently earned two best times at West Fargo Futures. She also earned a lifetime best at the virtual Des Moines/Fargo Central Zone North Speedo Sectionals back in March.

Her best times include:

  • 50 free: 23.56
  • 100 free: 53.64
  • 200 free: 1:56.36
  • 100 back: 56.75
  • 200 back: 2:05.75

Also competing for West Fargo High School, Hettinger is a six-time individual North Dakota State Championship finalist. She won the 100 back and earned bronze in the 50 free as a junior while taking gold and silver, respectively, during her sophomore season.
