Nicholas Dos Santos Scorches 50 Fly at 2015 Jose Finkel Trophy

Nicholas Dos Santos unleashed a sizzling men’s 50-meter fly at the 2015 Jose Finkel Trophy meet.

Dos Santos, already second in the world with a 22.90 at the Maria Lenk Trophy meet, blasted his way to a 23.00 for the win tonight.  Only top-ranked Florent Manaudou (22.84) has been faster this year.

Henrique De Souza took second in 23.54 with Marcelo Chierighini earning third in 23.77.

Taylor McKeown kept rolling at the meet with another win, this time with a meet-record 2:13.25 in the women’s 200-meter IM.

That swim eclipsed the 2:13.31 set by Joanna Maranhao back in 2009.

Maranhao took second tonight in 2:15.22 with Florencia Perotti earning third in 2:17.43.

Leah Neale claimed another meet record with a 4:11.14 in the women’s 400-meter free.

That swim cleared the 4:13.31 set by Maranhao back in 2009.  Manuella Lyrio placed second tonight in 4:12.37 with Viviane Eichelberger earning third in 4:14.47.

Leonardo De Deus downed the meet mark in the men’s 400-meter free with a 3:50.81.  That swim cleared the 3:52.68 set by Rodrigo Castro back in 2009.

Joao Amorim (3:54.79) and Luiz Lopes (3:55.13) placed second and third.

Etiene Medeiros, second-ranked in the world in the women’s 50-meter back with a 27.26 from Worlds, won the event tonight in 28.05.

Andrea Berrino tied Natalia De Luccas for second with matching 29.03s.

Daniel Orzechowski vaulted to seventh in the world in the men’s 50-meter back with a time of 24.71.  That swim just cleared the 24.73 clocked by Vlad Morozov at Worlds as the previous 7th-ranked swim.

Guilherme Guido placed second in 26.02 with Ricardo Machado earning third in 25.36.

Daynara De Paula won the women’s 50 fly in 26.45 with Bruna Carolina Lemos placing second in 26.86.

Daiene Marcal Dias wound up third overall in 27.12.

Henrique Rodrigues won the men’s 200-meter IM in 1:59.40 with Thiago Simon taking second in 2:01.60.  Lucas Salatta placed third in 2:01.92.
