TCU Adds Rob Zamorano as Assistant Swim Coach

Rob Zamorano has been hired as an assistant coach to the TCU swimming and diving program, the school announced on Thursday.

Zamorano spent the last two seasons as a volunteer assistant coach at Florida State, helping lead the men’s team to the No. 23 ranking at the end of the season. His focus with the Seminoles was the sprint group, guiding multiple swimmers who qualified for the 2021 FINA World Short Course Championships. He also helped launch Club Seminole, Florida State’s college club program. It finished fourth at College Club Nationals in 2022.

“From the day I met the staff they have made me feel like family,” Zamorano said. “I’m incredibly excited to have the opportunity to work with such a great staff and team. Go Frogs!”

Zamorano graduated from Division II Barton College in 2020. A distance freestyler, he left school with top-three times in school history in every freestyle event from 200 to 1,650 yards. A four-time all-conference pick, he led the Bulldogs to consecutive Conference Carolinas Championships in 2019 and 2020.

“After an extensive search, we are very excited to find a great fit for our program in Rob Zamorano,” TCU coach James Winchester said. “As we went through the process, Rob’s enthusiasm and passion for the sport and his excitement about the future of the program here at TCU seemed like an ideal fit for what we are building here. We are very excited to welcome Rob on board and look forward to his continued development as an exceptional young coach here at TCU.”
