Indiana Swims Past Purdue for Road Rivalry Win

Indiana swimming and diving cruised to victory Saturday, sweeping Purdue inside the Morgan J. Burke Aquatic Center.
The No. 6 women defeated Purdue 189-11. The No. 2 Indiana men won 236-64.
Twenty-one different Hoosiers won individual events, and the Indiana men swept the swimming events in a decisive result. Junior Mya DeWitt (50 free, 100 free) and senior Anna Peplowski (1,000 free, 100 fly) were the lone two-event winners, while 16 different men captured victories Saturday. Indiana also swept the relays.
DeWitt was a winner in the 200 medley relay (1:38.11), 50 freestyle (22.40), 100 freestyle (48.76), 200 freestyle relay (1:28.35). Peplowski won the 1000 freestyle (9:41.79), 100 butterfly (53.97) and was part of the 200 freestyle relay (1:28.35)
Indiana’s Mary Cespedes won the 200 breaststroke (2:12.18). Brearna Crawford won the 200 medley relay (1:38.11). Anna Freed took the 200 backstroke (1:55.54). Kacey McKenna won the 100 backstroke (52.52). Kristina Paegle won the 200 freestyle (1:47.33) and the 200 freestyle relay (1:28.35). Avery Spade took the 200 medley relay (1:38.11). Reese Tiltmann claimed the 200 IM (1:58.66) and Chiok Sze Yeo was on both relays.
Purdue’s Sophie McAfee won 1-meter diving. Masy Folcik (100 breast, 1:00.83) and Campbell Scofield (200 fly, 1:58.21) won their events with NCAA provisional qualifying times (B Cuts). Folcik’s time doubled as a team season best in the event.
For the Indiana men, Caspar Corbeau was a winner in the 200 medley relay (1:23.23), 100 breaststroke (51.73), 200 freestyle relay (1:17.41)
Finn Brooks was on the 200 medley relay (1:23.23). Tomer Frankel claimed the 100 butterfly (45.11). Matt King won the 100 freestyle (42.04). Miroslav Knedla was part of the 200 medley relay (1:23.23). Mikkel Lee won the 50 freestyle (19.72), 200 freestyle relay (1:17.41). Josh Matheny won the 200 breaststroke (1:54.97). Cooper McDonald claimed the 1,000 freestyle (9:02.99). Owen McDonald won the 200 freestyle (1:33.52). Rafael Miroslaw won the 500 freestyle (4:18.94) and was part of the 200 freestyle relay (1:17.41). Raekwon Noel won the 200 butterfly (1:44.80). Dylan Smiley was part of the 200 freestyle relay (1:17.41). Carson Tyler won 1-meter diving (411.45). Kai van Westering won the 200 backstroke (1:43.07). Gavin Wight was a winner in the 200 medley relay (1:23.23), 100 backstroke (46.69) Jassen Yep took the 200 IM (1:46.14).
