NCSA Finalist Jaeddan Gamilla Sends Verbal Pledge to Michigan

NEW COMMIT: The University of Michigan has received a verbal commitment for the 2023-24 season from Junior National qualifier Jaeddan Gamilla of Aurora, Illinois.

Regarding his commitment, he said:

“I am extremely excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and swimming career at the University of Michigan! I have truly appreciated the support received from my family, coaches, teammates, and friends throughout my journey. I’d lastly like to thank God, and I can’t wait to be part of an amazing team! GO BLUE! 〽️

Gamillar trains year-round with Maverick Swim Club and most recently earned four best times at Junior Nationals last month after posting a pair of top-15 finishes at Minneapolis Sectionals. He had a great showing at the NCSA Championships back in the spring, finishing 14th in both the 100 breast and 200 IM as well as 18th in the 400 IM.

His best times include:

  • 100 breast – 55.03
  • 200 breast – 2:00.92
  • 200 IM – 1:48.21
  • 400 IM – 3:57.54
  • 100 fly – 49.72
  • 200 fly – 1:49.92

Currently a senior at Metea Valley High School, Gamilla placed third in the 100 breast and fourth in the 200 IM at the 2022 Illinois State Championships.

Michigan placed third at the 2022 Big Ten Conference Championships.
